关于参加《实验设计与分析课程系列讲座》通知

  我校后稷学者王通会教授拟于2011年6月8日至24日为我校学生开设《实验设计与分析课程系列讲座》具体讲座安排如下,请有兴趣参加讲座的学生在6月3日前到学院教学办报名,完成本系列讲座并考核合格的学生将按照学校的相关要求计入创新与技能8学分模块。

Lecture Series On The Design and Analysis of Experiments By Dr. Tonghui Wang 
                                                   Hoji Scholar and Professor

  The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the design and analysis of the experiments. It is for the upper level undergraduate and graduate course for majors in applied statistics and other applied mathematical sciences, natural sciences, business, health sciences, social sciences, and engineering. It is assumed that the students have completed the course in probability and statistical inference. The emphasis is more on design than what one usually finds at this level as it is virtually no way that use of sophisticated statistical techniques can compensate for poorly acquired data. The fundamental goal of a well-designed experiment is to minimize the variation (error) of a response variable that cannot be attributed to a known change of the condition.
Textbook:  An introduction of the design and analysis of experiments, by C. C. Canavos and L. A. Koutrouvelis, Pearson Prentice Hall, NJ, 2009.
Contents:  This course will cover Chapter one to Chapter 10 of the textbook with omissions.
Schedule:  From June 8 to June 24 (Mon., Wed., and Fri.) from Periods 7 and 8(16:30-18:20)

Lecture One: 6/8, to discuss (a) Fundamental aspects of design experiments and (b) documentation form a design experiment.
Lecture Two: 6/10, to discuss single factor design---complete randomized experiments.
Lecture Three: 6/13, to discuss single factor design---randomized complete and incomplete and Latin square designs.
Lecture Four: 6/15, to discuss factorial experiments---complete randomized designs.
Lecture Five: 6/17, to discuss factorial experiments---Randomized block and Latin square designs.
Lecture Six: 6/20, to discuss nested factorial experiments and repeated measures designs.
Lecture Seven: 6/22, to discuss multi-factor experiment designs.
Lecture Eight: 6/24, to discuss the general linear models.
