Guided by the conviction that “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets”, NWAFUers environmental protection and investigation team came to Hanjiang basin and conducted a systematic investigation and propaganda activities on July 18th. Their practice aims to summon the local people into the environmental protection.

At 8:00 in the morning, the team arrived at the center square of Hanzhong City. First, they invited the local residents to fill in the questionnaires on current situation of Hanjiang water resources, which was well received by the citizens. It was clearly shown in the results that the water quality has long been the top concern of the public. To gain more support from the local people, the team then handed out The Proposal of Protecting Hanjiang River around. They appealed to the local to comply with civilization pledge, be a good citizen with high morals and civility and take real action in their daily life.

At noon, the team came to the bank of the Hanjiang River for a field survey. The water quality their was rather poor as various garbage still floated around. Therefore, they organized the activity "I am a publicity and protection volunteer", and picked up the garbage along the river. Pedestrians passing was moved and quickly joined the ranks. After that, everyone signed the banner of "Protecting the Hanjiang River", expressing their determination to protect the Han River.

At 14:00, the team got to the Hanjiang Wetland Park. The newly-built park needs further construction, but it has indeed made the Hanjiang ecology more stable and the scenery more beautiful, attracting countless rare animals. Along the way to the park, the team got to know from the conversations with pedestrians that the protection of the Hanjiang River is a sustainable project beneficial for generations of local people. This social practice activity has made many people be aware of the importance of Hanjiang River protection in improving living environment and accelerating sustainable economic development.

The team is determined to continue the project as a life-long pursuit. They are to make more contributions in practice and publicity. They hold the firm belief that, the Hanjing River will ultimately be restored to its charm.
