On August 30th, lead by the head teacher Xu Tengfei, the Biological Base Class 1903 and all the Y2019 horticulture majors, went to the Experimental Vineyard of College of Enology and Jingtian Greenhouse Vineyard.
When the visitors arrived, a large grape rack run into their views, which looked very spectacular in the bright sun. After the attendance check, the teacher Meng Jiangfei from College of Enology
explained to the students related knowledge about grapes: from the different varieties of grapes and their corresponding characteristics to the development of grape cultivation. His presentation was so lively and interesting that all students enjoyed and learned a lot. Then, under the guidance and explanation of Meng, everyone saw many grape varieties and tasted the grapes cultivated by NWAFU.
The next stop was at Jingtian Greenhouse Vineyard where the person in charge shared with the students the application of big data in intelligent management system of the vineyard. The students were impressed with the convenience and efficiency brought by technology to agricultural production. Then, the students were shown the internal structure and function of the vineyard, the application of sprinkler irrigation, drip irrigation and other advanced equipment sand facilities.
In this activity, the students not only witnessed the facilities and environment of agricultural production, but also saw a variety of grape varieties and how the advanced technology and equipment applied. They also gained knowledge and joy during the trip. As students of agricultural universities in the new era, we should work harder to acquire more professional knowledge, keep pace with the times, and make greater contribution the development of agriculture in our country.
