From: CIE Student Affairs Office      By: Li Yuhong      Date: 2018-12-11

On the afternoon of December 9th, CIE held the Booklist Exhibition in the multimedia-equipped classroom, following which a reading party was held at Youren College on the morning of December 27th. This one-month activity was organized to encourage students to read books and make the reading a tradition of Youren College.

The contestants exhibited their favorite books with the aid of PPT and brief oral report, and their performance would be graded by the judges following the rules of innovation, content and other aspects evaluation. The panel was composed of CIE student counsellor Zhang Shicheng, CIE deputy Party secretary of Youth League Committee Zhang Xinlu, deputy president of CIE Student Union He Zongxiong. The contestant, in more than one way, expressed their love to reading and personal understanding of the works they have read. Some listed the touching plot with poem, while some conveyed the essence of books by composing songs. Weeks later, all students gathers at the Lecture of Chinese Ancient Studies, who communicated with each other their favorite books and reading comprehension. The contestants were also awarded presents.

Jin Keke from Bio-tech Class 1803 said after the activity that, “I was given a chance to share my favorite books with others. Though I may not have prepared well enough, the process of getting things done was so happy. What's more surprising is that my interests for books rose some more, after hearing other students' presentations. I will definitely spare some time to read the interesting books they recommended."

This activity greatly inspired the students in reading, setting up a platform for them to develop the good habit of “ More Reading and Better Reading”, and encouraged them to go further on the way of reading and life-enriching.
