On March 15th, CIE organized a Consumer Rights Day activity under the theme of “High Quality Consumption and Beautiful Life”, which aimed to protect the students’ legal rights and improve their consciousness of consumption rights safeguarding.
The activity was composed of two sessions including Online Q&A and Offline Banner Signing. The online session helped the students understand daily consuming, rights protection, and common cases of right infringement through online questions. At the noon, the College organized a banner signing activity, advocating that the students should boycott consumer rights violation. The students actively responded to the call and expressed their resolutions of rights protection through signing on the banner.
Talking about anticipation for consumer rights, Gao Yaxin from Biotech 1701 said, “I hope that the products in the market have a higher quality and that there are no more consumer frauds. Relevant companies should fully understand the consumers’ needs and avoid inferior-quality products.” “Although college students are not the main force for consumption, we, especially the law majors, have the responsibility and obligation to promote consumer rights protection. Imbuing the awareness to college students and then everyone in the society is beneficial to law popularization and will leave illegal business nowhere to escape,” said Shen Zhentong from Grade 2015.
This activity significantly improved the students’ legal knowledge and rights protection awareness, and at the same time contributed to the students’ rational consumption and self-protection in accordance with the law.
