Right on the New Year’s Day, CIE Garden Party was successfully held in the basketball field on north campus.
Themed on Exploring the Silk Road, the party was composed of five interesting sessions--- Going Through River of Sand, Sitting Up, Balloon Clip, Balloon Kicking and Ball Thrown. All sessions required co-operation of the paired participants. Noticeably, Going Through River of Sand was considered the most thrilling and challenging activity. Two people standing on the same stool moved another stool, and then returned to the first stool. The constant screaming and laughter echoed in the field.
Among the participants, some children and elders were also found, in addition to the NWAFUers.
A little boy who had just finished one game with his mom, repeatedly pleaded his mother for another try "Mom, I would like to play again!"Besides, a pair of old couple finished four activities with the assistance of their family and the party staff. He Zongxing, head of the event, said: "New Year's Day Garden Party is an annual traditional activity held by CIE and is devoted to creating a warm festive atmosphere and enriching the cultural life of teachers and students.. " Zhao Xingyu , a student of grade 2017, said:" The games in the garden party brought me back to my childhood, and let me feel the tacit understanding between my friends and me.I felt so fulfilled as I see the kids accompanied by their parents and am so happy to witness the friendship among the students. I think this activity will bring us more vitality and happiness to the New Year!”
The activity was an active response to the "Three Walks" policy, creating a platform for faculty and students to share the joy of the festival. It also enriches the spiritual and cultural life of teachers and students, stirring up everybody’s enthusiasm for the coming new year.
