The First New Liquor Cup Freshmen Debate Competition co-hosted by the Enology College and CIE rounded off the other day. Working Committee secretary of Youth League Committee of the two colleges and hundreds of students enjoyed the dance of wisdom together.
The topic of this debate is Becoming Justice Is/Isn’t Justice. The pro goes to Biotechnology class 1703 while the con was Wine class 1702 holding the view that the belated justice is not justice. At the very beginning, the two sides applied a highly general statement to debut their speeches at the opening of this debate, promoting the exchange into next phase. In no time, both sides added supplementary speeches and challenged each other's defenders. The two sides defended their thinking and careful logical reasoning, which soon gained applause from time to time, and pushed the competition to a red-hot stage.
However, the climax of this debate came when the fourth phase began. The quick turns fully reflected the quick mind of the players, but also tested the players' expression ability. In the conclusion session, the two sides argued against each other on the logic loopholes and countered back the kills of their opponents. In the end, the Biotechnology class 1703 won the competition.
The participants of both sides not only gained a chance to exercise their debate, but also gained precious friendship during the competition. The debating team has cultivated the team spirit of the students and demonstrated the young and energetic youth spirit. At the same time, it served to improve students’ expression ability.
