| As the memorial day of “December 9th Movement” gets underway, CIE organized a theme Youth League activity to commemorate the “December 9th Movement” and voice students’ patriotism.
On December 2nd, CIE organized students to watch the movie Sky Hunter as the advance publicity. This patriotic educating movie was well received by the students and successfully mobilized students’ sense of participation to the theme activity.
From December 4th, CIE started collecting students’ three-line love poems to the country. Students were encouraged to express their feelings for the country in short words and illustrate the outstanding poems. The collection phase ended on the evening of December 6th. Through online and offline voting, outstanding poems and images were selected and exhibited in the hallway of Youren College. Participant Niu Zhihan from Grade 2016 said, “The three-line poem can express our love to the country and respect to the Patriotic martyrs.”
This “December 9th Movement” commemoration developed students’ patriotism and helped them improve their outlooks on world, life, and value. As modern university students, we should keep our country’s history in mind and set strict demands on themselves for the great cause of rejuvenating the Chinese nation.
