“Our theme is ‘Teenage Mind’. All these decorations are selected by us. They are good-looking and practical…” CIE Youth League Work Committee Secretary Yin Boyan visited the creative dormitories with the assessment group and conducted the second-round selection.

CIE 2017 Creative Dormitory Competition has two rounds including online demonstration and offline visit. The competition result is weighted by vote and score.

Various themes attended the competition. From concise style to romantic atmosphere, the decorated dormitories showed the students’ creativity and meticulous design.

Scores were given according to the principles of openness and fairness. Eventually, 16#212 was awarded the first prize, 17#226 and 16#121 won the second prizes, and 16#122, 16#219, 17#215, 17#218, and 17#308 received the third prizes.

Xi Ruiyuan said after the competition, “It is through this competition that I realized that there are so many versatile people around me. The cooperation process of thinking and decorating was enjoyable. Competition like this is more than competing with each other. I think it means to have students realize that the dormitory is like home, and roommates are just like family. It is everyone’s job to keep the home comfortable.”

The competition fully demonstrates students’ collaboration and innovation awareness. It also enriches the college life and brings positive influence to the dormitory culture.
