The New Year’s Day is more than a festival celebrated annually. In some way is means a new start embracing new hope and expectation and love. Bearing in mind of this idea, the CIE volunteer students, along with the NWAFU Sunshine Youth League Committee, Sunflower Charity Association and Yangling Vocational School volunteer students paid a New Year visit to the welfare house, where they brought happiness and joy to the people there.

It took the volunteers some time before they transformed the yard to a Chinese-new-year-style stage. As the party begun, the volunteers in turns demonstrated their talents in the shows. From the stunning and acrobatic roller skating, to the eye-catching hip-hop dancing, and to the strongly-rhythmed chorus Little Apple, the wonderful shows brought the New Year’s joy to the elders there who were so greatly inspired and sang to the volunteers Shaanxi opera. There was all laughter and applause echoing in the air. 

After the show, the volunteers had a nice talk with the elders and helped the staff with cleaning the house. Clean rooms, smiling faces, happy laughter are marks of that day and will remain in the coming new year.
