Responsive to the call of college educational activity--- Our Chinese Dream Fulfilled Jointly from the Science and Technology Support to Farmers, students of college practice department and study club organized a tour to the Modern Agricultural Park in Dazhai County. Taking advantage of their professional knowledge and scientific training opportunity, they gave strong support of science and technology to the farmers.

The volunteers had a close communication with the green house owners by whom they were introduced the status quo of the vegetables, like cucumber, tomato, pepper , courgette and other kinds, and were told of the market demand and the plant disease and insect pest problem and the loss it caused. To put the knowledge into practice, the students proposed some solution to the problem of plant disease and insect pest, inspired by the research program and independently-conducted research training. They also vary the agricultural technology handouts to the farmers according to different kind of vegetable they are planting. Those unsettled questions and problems were promised to be solved as well when the students find the effective methods from the reference book in the library or from the help of their mentors. Before leaving the green house, all students actively helped the farmers with some field work, which was highly appreciated.

This activity is a manifestation of students’ belief that knowledge coming from practice and development fulfilled by genuine help to others. It is also a win-win activity that the students get first-hand material about agricultural development and the needs of farmers, to put the knowledge into practice for coping with the problems in real life and to improve one’s ability, which is a effective way to better fulfil the Chinese Dream with the dedication of time, intellectual and energy.
