At the newly-closed final of 13th Challenge CupNational Undergraduate Curriculum Academic Science and Technology Works Competition sponsored by Suzhou University, Hu Dexin and other 3 CIE students won the third prize with their design of Analysis of Cofilin and Its Activity Regulative Mechanism.

Themed on To Fulfill the China Dream in Challenging Innovative Way, the competition has attracted students from over 400 national universities with more than 1000 design works. Having gone through the work exhibition arrangement, work exhibition and defense, followed by other two-day closed review and defense, Analysis of Cofilin and Its Activity Regulative Mechanism made by CIE students Hu Dexin, Li Lingling, Sun Xinyao and Li Kaikai won the national third prize, marking a historical breakthrough of CIE in Challenge Cup competition.

As early as their first college year, the CIE students have received training of academic research and practice in experiments. CIE has developed a systematic, periodical and multi-leveled training programme in which the training emphasis varies from students of different grade. Specifically, year one concentrating on the independent experiment practice, year two on choosing academic mentor and working on undergraduate innovative experiment plan, while year three and four on composing academic thesis.

It is believed that Challenge CupNational Undergraduate Curriculum Academic Science and Technology Works Competition is a mass, oriented and demonstrative activity co-sponsored by The Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, China Association for Science and Technology, China Ministry of Education, All-China Students Federation and local government, with the co-launched by the famous national universities and mass media. With the 20-year history since its first activity in 1989, Challenge Cup has developed from 19 initiator universities to over 1000 participants universities, as from the small stage for 300 people to a huge arena for over 2 million college students, known as the Chinese college students academic science and technology Olympicevent.
