On the morning of 8th Dec, over 20 CIE student volunteers came to Beiyang village of Yangling to spread among the villagers the hygienic popular science knowledge. The villagers were instructed the essentials of healthy diet and disease prevention, which was to help them to lead a healthy life.
Themed on To Popularize Hygiene Knowledge, To Live better Life, the activity had been initiated when the volunteers conducted survey of villagers’ demands and the winter climate in Yangling. Based on the data collected, they worked out the leaflet and posters on which hygiene popular science knowledge like disease prevention and healthy diet were printed, which prepared the way for the success of final activity.
Working in groups, all volunteers handed out the leaflets or posters to passers-by villagers in the village, or dropped in on the villagers at their homes to eliminate their confusion about hygiene. In addition, the student volunteers pasted well-designed hygiene knowledge poster on the board of the village committee for where was the village’s busiest place, so that more people can enjoy gaining hygiene knowledge to lead a healthy and happy life.
The activity not only popularizes the hygiene knowledge among the village and helps them to improve quality of life, but also have them understand the volunteers’ service spirit of devotion, friendliness, helpfulness and activeness.
