The relaxing winter vocation of 2014 never meant what a holiday should be, since it has been defined and practiced by the CIE students as an opportunity of “refueling”. Over 50 students of Y2011 &2011 shortened or gave up their winter vocation to the experiments of Undergraduate Innovative Experiment Project, determined to improve their scientific research ability and operation ability, working hard for the fulfillment of their dreams of scientific research and academic goal.

Tutored by Professor Chen Hong of A&F Life Science College, student Ge Feixiang explained that, the time for experiment at term time is usually scattered and inadequate to conduct the experiment systematically. The holiday time could make this up, during which I can enjoy the guide from my mentors and the senior students.  

Hou Shuang, a Y2011CIE students of Bio-science experiment class shared his feeling, giving up the winter holiday for conducting experiment at university means more than a great harvest to me, through which I immensely improve my abilities to conduct experiment and read foreign references.

As the survey shows, the number of students taking the winter holiday an opportunity for refueling themselves has been on the rise, mainly motivated by the implementation of 2+X cultivation model and students’ further and rational understanding of it, which enabled the students to make plan in advance. In the way of joining in social practice, making experiment and taking training courses, the goal-oriented students have grabbed each opportunity to improve their comprehensive ability and competitiveness, laying solid foundation for the fulfillment of their academic dreams.
