On 20th April, CIE village director’s assistants Chen Hong, Chen Shuohua and Zhao Lijie invited associate professor Long Zhouxia of A& F Horticulture College to Shuaijia Village to conduct lectures for the local peasants. The lectures were on the kiwi fruit cultivation, fertilization, grafting and prevention of plant disease, which gained great popularity and appreciation of the villagers.

The chill of rain could not at all reduce the passion of villagers coming to the lectures. With their own stools, over 70 villagers came to the village hall in rain and soon stuffed the room until no more spare room for another pair of feet, absorbed in listening to the experts and taking notes. At the Q&A section, the interaction between the villagers and the experts were so well conducted, eliminating villagers’ confusion.

The lectures came to end in the applause and praise and thanks. The villagers expressed their appreciation to professor Long, from whose speech they realized their practice in growing kiwi fruit tree need improving. May great harvest they can enjoy soon!
