In memory of PRC 1st President Mao Tse-tung’s command Learn From Comrade Lei Feng to  promote the Lei Feng spirit of selflessness, CIE volunteers visited Yangling welfare house on the 16th Chinese Volunteers’ Day. They organized for the old and the children the lantern festival Evening where they performed their talent show. 

As soon as they got to the center, one group of students set out to do the cleaning, while the other group in no time pitched in the preparation for the evening show. The old people who are unable to walk alone were accompanied by the considerate young students to the hall. The evening proved to be a wonderful occasion, where all the shows and the smile of the young students warmed the hearts of people in the house.

This lantern festival meant more than an occasion of joys to the young students. It is also an opportunity for the young volunteers to find their personal value in the process of devotion and service.
