The workshop on Chinese legal system construction was held at CIE on 4th December, which was to further students’ understanding of the construction of Chinese legal system and the establishment of Chinese constitute. Over 60 members of CIE student union attended the workshop.

First, the students read the records about the form of legal system of Chinese socialism characteristics, from which they learned about the report of Mr. Wu Bangguo and the form of Chinese legal system. Then they watched a documentary film Zhufa which demonstrated systematically the trials in establishing scientific legal system of Chinese characteristics. It also revealed the confusion that challenged the Chinese Communist Party who pushed forward the Chinese legal system after the cultural revolutionary and put forward the reform policy and the rule of law. Then, the students worked in groups for discussion and study.

In the last session, the host asked the students to try the receipt of loan and the will. Then she later made comments on their assignments and let them know how to legalized these written document.

This activity familiarizes the students with the establishment procedure of Chinese constitution and its subordinate laws, and the strictness and preciseness as well.
