On the evening of 22nd October, Dr. Allan Andales from Soil and Crop Science Department of Colorado State University USA was invited to give the Y2014 CIE students a tutorial on Academic Opportunity at Colorado State University. CIE student mentor Mr. Zou Yufeng served as the host. 

Illustrated with wonderful pictures and the E-map of Colorado State, the report of Dr. Andales commenced with the introduction to Colorado State University. The introduction was then furthered when it came to the university campus, the research activities, the disciplinary development and the facilities. The research orientation, teaching system and the application for studying at the university were even more detailed in the report. Dr. Andales encouaged the students to treasure the college life and to get their abilities improved in all aspects. In the Q&A session, the students received instructive answers from the Dr. Andales about the training of research ability and application for overseas study at Colorado State University.  

This tutorial, on one hand expanded the international vision of freshmen and furthered their understanding of American college education, particularly of the teaching at Colorado State University. On the other hand, it greatly stimulates the students’ enthusiasm in English learning.
