| To help the Y2014 CIE students to adapt to college life thoroughly with upright attitude, CIE organized a report on psychological health in classroom N8T07 on the evening of 14th October. Director of A&F Psychological Counselling Center Mz. Jin Hua was invited as the reporter, whose lecture focused on Adaptation, Starting and Flying.
First, Mz. Jin briefly introduced the significance of psychological counseling, demonstrating and the features of and explaining the reasons of students behavior under the pressure from study, living environment and social communication. Then, she listed some problems in study, interpersonal relationship, love and economy that had always bothered college students. She reassured the students to take the challenges of hardships in life and encouraged them to learn to deal with the problems with the help of psychological counselors. Regulating oneself with guidance, establishing positive attitude to life, planing periodic goal of feasibility, and developing humble manners were all strongly recommended by Mz. Jin, who suggested them find ways of getting rid of negative emotion and keeping positive attitude to life. The one who shares happiness willingly, who keeps the innocence of childhood, who is tolerant and confident, who is adaptive even in adversity will be the one who succeed in life, as Mz. Jin said at the meeting. In the interaction, she gave some suggestions to the students about how to build up confidence, how to improve communication ability and how to resolve the psychological problems.
This report familiarized the college students with the importance of adapting oneself to college life. The students also learned about that the problems confronting the individuals prevail among their peers. In addition, the report stimulated the young students to build personal image of optimism by setting up positive life goal and tackling with potential psychological problems.
