I was so thrilled at the news of mathematical modeling interest-based group to be established by our college. Mathematics, having been fascinating me with its unique charm, ultimately comes closer to me upon the advent of mathematical modeling in my life, which frees my mind from the textbook to solve problems in practice with professional knowledge. Thanks to the reports given by two fellow students, I got further understanding in mathematical modeling.

    First, as a non-mathematics-major freshman, I got stuck for the concept of mathematical modeling at the very beginning of joining the interest-based group. It seemed so vague and mysterious to me, hard to fully understand before it was interpreted by the fellow students. So far as I know, it refers to the application of professional mathematic knowledge in solving the problems in practice, offering life specific suggestion in mathematical approaches.

    Second, it is so challenging as a thinking-evaluated and ability-tested practice which helps me build up the self confidence and improve my comprehensive abilities and leave me the pleasure of success. This is the reason why I so keen on mathematical modeling. During the research, student is supposed to be confident of every decision one made and the final result one got. Brief, being confident is essential for one in mathematical modeling study.

    Third, God Helps Who Helps Himself, I read into better this saying in this practice. No pains, no gains. Though the research work on mathematical modeling is exhausting as our fellow students informed, I believe the hard working is rewarding. Both brown reflection and frankly debate on questions of mathematics I experienced with companions meant sort of study and progress, which brought more joys into my life. Hence, no matter how hard the work would be, no matter how many difficulties on the way, I would remain moving forward.

    Fourth, skills and requirements in thesis writing learnt from fellow students enlightened me much and presented me the conscientiousness of those approaches applied for analysing practical issues. I am now looking forward to the coming mathematical modeling test, in which I intend to have those learning methods and skills in thesis writing fully acquired to prepare for future study and practical application.

    Last, the practice taught me the importance of team spirit. Well-united team requires all members keep on good terms for the good climate for study and research. Additionally, I firmly believed that our research would be fruitful with devoted contribution of everyone.

    I am really appreciated our college for offering us the opportunity for study and communication. Meanwhile, I am so enjoyed for the pleasure in mathematics study, for the team spirit and joy in communication and share. I am determined to overcome the difficulties and progress in my study, to better the interest-based group of mathematical modeling and to make the charm of mathematics accessible to more students.
