Chenyan Gu, female, Han nationality, probationary Party member, born in Feb 1982, Business Administration Major student of grade 2008 of our college, keeps coming out at the top in major courses and synthesized evaluation of college students for two year. She passed College English Test Band 6 and National Computer Test Level Three with perfect grade. In addition, her name can also be found as Second Price Winner of National English Competition, Third Prize Winner of National Network Forum, First Prize Winner of Zhuoyue Cup College Badge Design, Second Prize winner of University Photography Awards, Third Prize winner of University Social Practice Report. For her excellence, she was also awarded Merit Student and Excellent Communist Youth League of China.

                                                                  Entrepreneurial Spirit Based on Self-Communion
        She interprets study as dominant part of her life, since knowledge is not only the device for constructing our nation, but also the base of knowing the world, from her perspectives. In autumn of 2008, numerous spirited college students stepped into university and swept away the high pressure of study. Unlike majority of the students, Miss Gu never stopped moving forward to refine her study. Each course, any piece of knowledge or every single difficulty and doubt are not allowed to slip away if not being full comprehened. To arrange life time reasonably, she never bothers to work out systematic study plan and fulfil those plans with great effort, which ultimately turns out to contributions to her success and excellence. As the saying goes, God helps those who help themselves. She ultimately ranks first in both professional study and synthesized evaluation , which enable her to keep the thrown of First Prize of Academy Scholarship and National Scholarship.

        However, all the glory and success she has got doesn't content her in learning , which pushed her forward to improve literacy of English language and ability of computer operation. When she was just a freshmen, she passed the National College English Test Band 6 with the score of 573. In the second year, she won second prize in National College English Competition. At the same year, she was awarded Model in English Learning by College of Innovative Experiment. She also got the certificate of National Computer Rank Examination Level 2 and Level 3, both with perfect grade.

        She doesn't become snooty for what she has achieved and the compliments from teachers and classmates. She has a clear mind of her flaws, which motivates her to keep moving on and refining herself constantly. 

                                                                       Service Spirit Based on Self-Improvement 
        As to ideological and ethical improvement, she works hard for strengthening study in political policies and enhancing self-cultivation. She targets at being fully-developed college students who should be equipped with knowledge and socialist concept of honor and disgrace, who studies and practices scientific outlook on development. Having attended Party class in the first school year, she behaves under her strict self-requirements. She joined Communist Party of China in the second school year, following which she continued to study fundamental theories of Communist Party, played vanward type efffect and leading role in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics education.

        Miss Gu joined the Technique Training Department of university Communist Youth League Committee in the first year and took the position of vice minister in following year. In her tenure, she served with positive and responsible attitude, and stood out in improving employability skill of college students, in particular in organizing the training class of ISO Series Internal Auditor. 
Innovation and Creativity.

                                                      Innovative Spirit Based on Practice and Scientific Research
        In addition to refining her academic study, she kept alert that, 21 century would be an era of Knowledge-based Economy. In this time of new economic pattern, the competition of knowledge-based economy can be equated with competition of intelligence and knowledge of human being. The competition of talents, more specifically, talents with innovative ability would dominant everything, which would be more crucial and fierce than ever before. To take this challenge, she made the decision of cultivating herself a top-notch innovative talent of new era and enthusiastically took part in various kinds of activities of science and technology innovation and social practice.

        To inspire the innovative spirit of students and improve their comprehensive quality, our college organized the Zhuoyue Cup College Badge Design contest, which means an opportunity to Miss Gu. Along with other two students from different major class, she got the ticket to final contest. In the presentation, she was responsible for the part of introduction and explanation.  They finally won the first prize for their excellent work. Their work named "Ben(rushing)" was a crystallization of their wisdom, which has been adopted as the sign of college journal Bo Wen.

        She was active in social practice as well. In her first school year, she regularly went to Zhouli village once a month. She not only educated the pupils some basic knowledge, but also taught them sign language dance Grateful Heart, based on which she composed a report and published it on university on-line journal. She spent every summer vocation taking part in social practice. The report of The Booming of North Lake--- Investigation Report of North Lake Eco-city of Tangshan won third prize of university's social practice report in summer vacation . 

        All the scientific research report organized by college and university motivated her to go further in this field and opened the window of the world to her. Under the circumstance of being confident enough, she got the offer of university major project of college student innovative experiment programme. In second summer vocation, she completed the programme on her own and composed the paper of Analysis on Influencing Factors in Farmers' Acceptance of LOGIT Model-Based Greenhouse Cultivation Technology---- Instancing on Empirical Research in Yangling Agricultural Demonstration Zone, which gained decent score in concluding paper defence. Social practice and scientific research training raised her awareness of difficulties in work and indispensability of strictness in science. She got full apprehension of how to adjust the attitude and to face the challenge were much difficult than she thought. However, the saying that Where There Is a Will, There Is a Way encourages her to pursue her dream with persistence and perseverance.
  
                                                               Colorful College Life Base on Practice of Interests
        Miss Gu takes satisfaction in life and never gets tired of tring new things. Once thrown into the attempt, she would keep moving and put her best foot forward. She firmly believes that being excellent in study is far from enough, for which she advocates and practice the full development. In her spare time, she actively participates various recreational and sports activities, never fails to grasp any opportunity for making her self known and getting her ability improved.

        To be more specific, she once took part in the opening ceremony of university sports meeting and interest games of parties, joined the college choir and won third prize in college students singing contest in celebrate The 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. With a sharp mind of beauty in life, she succeed in being a qualified shutterbugs, who won the second prize in University Photo Contest of Spring on Campus and Homeland Memories respectively. As a fan of reading and writing, she takes library  her spiritual home, where she always read extensively with great eagerness. Her literature talent is given eloquent proof of her winning second prize in World Reading Day series contests sponsored by university library and third prize in National Network Essay Contest titled The Responsibility and Duty of 80s and 90s Born People. Beneath that apparently calm surface is a lady full of passion in public speaking, reciting and teaching. She testified her ability by winning the second prize in Eleventh Teaching Contest of Northwest A&F University.
