On the afternoon of June 26th,CIE held the Honorary Degree Award Ceremony for year 2015 university graduates on the Cultural Square of Youren College. Dean of Youren College, Professor Ziqiao Yu, and the Dean of CIE, researcher Wenjun Ou, parents of students, all CIE staff and the graduates attended the award ceremony. Associate Dean of CIE, Mr. Xiaoping Wang presided over the ceremony.

Before the commencement, all the graduates watched the video taken on their own in the hall of boys’ apartment. The graduates recorded the dribs and drabs of their college life with the video, to express their cherish of friendship with their classmates and extend their gratitude to teachers and NWAFU. All their heart-felt emotion and sincere thanks to teachers, college and university has been infused into this 30-minute video.

Professor Ziqiao Yu addressed the Degree Ceremony first. “The world now is witnessing rapid scientific development and China is rising up to the numerous opportunities and challenges”, he pointed out in his speech. As a college graduate, students should aim higher and make full use of their knowledge to contribute more to the rejuvenation of Chinese nation. Professor Yu also said that success is not a one-day thing. Many examples of the successful person illustrated that when in the face of adversities and setbacks, students should unceasingly strive along and achieve their objective through the coordination of teamwork.

Then, Mr. Ou delivered his speech. He firstly congratulated to the graduates on their achievements in the past four years and extended heart-felt gratitude and warm greetings to all teachers and parents for their dedication on the cultivation of the students. He said students had endured numerous choices and setbacks in the model “2+x”and finally could be more confident and capable enough to deal with the challenges on their way to prosperity. In the meantime, he proposed three expectations for the graduates: stick to the extraordinary dream and march forward with fortitude; make full use of the strengths and explore courageously; uphold the righteousness and integrity and bravely take responsibilities.

Whereafter,CIE Associate Dean Mr. Xiaoping Wang announced the The Decision on the Conference of Honorary Degree to CIE Y2015 Graduates. The ceremony closed with a CIE family photo.
